The Friends of Colfax-Perry Township Public Library plays a significant role each year planning and implementing library events and programs. Membership is open to anyone 16 and older who shares the vision and purpose of the Friends of the Library by investing time, talent, and resources.
One important function is the Friends’ as a repository for revenue from sales of surplus public library property (books & equipment) as well as for individual donations and gifts in accordance with Indiana Library Law and IRS regulations. Books weeded from library shelves become property of The Friends and are sold for a free-will donation. The annual Ole Hickory Days Festival each August is traditionally the big book sale by the Friends’ Organization.
The Friends of CPTPL hold monthly meetings on the first Monday of each month. There is an annual meeting in September to appoint officers and discuss the annual budget.
